CHICAGO (Sept. 14, 2011)—The Chicago Private Dining Steakhouse Group and the Futures Industry Association will host one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for the Greater Chicago Food Depository on Wednesday, Oct. 12. For the first time, 22 of Chicago’s finest steakhouses will provide all of the food at the annual Futures Industry Association’s Futures Cares Great Chicago Steak Out, which will draw attendees from Chicago and the concurrent Futures Industry Association Expo.   The fundraiser arrives at a critical time for the Food Depository, which is serving 59 percent more individuals at pantries versus three years ago.

“Chicago’s Private Dining Steakhouse Group has the privilege of working with some of the most talented chefs in the city with access to the best foods available.  It only seems appropriate that these exclusive steakhouses aide in the industry they know best,” said Kelly McGrath of Mastro’s Steakhouse and president of the group.

The Futures Industry Association began partnering with the Greater Chicago Food Depository in 2008 during the FIA’s largest event, the Futures and Options Expo .  This tradeshow event incorporates products, services and information to professionals of the futures trading industry.  The annual Futures Cares dinner aims to raise $500,000 in support of the Food Depository and its network of 650 pantries, soup kitchens and shelters.

ABOUT CHICAGO PRIVATE DINING STEAKHOUSE GROUP

The Private Dining Steakhouse Group was founded in March of 2004 by Kelly McGrath (who currently serves as the Events Director at Mastro’s Steakhouse) with the support of Lynette Velez of Gibson’s Steakhouse and consists of the top steakhouses in the downtown Chicago area that also offer private dining.  What makes this group original is that clientele and information is shared amongst the competition and used to improve one’s overall dining experience.  If a steakhouse can not accommodate a guest, that person can be referred to the group who will then contact the guest if they have availability.  This often proves convenient for the busy corporate planner or an out-of-town individual who may not be familiar with area restaurants.  In addition to sharing business tips and clientele, The Private Dining Steakhouse Group also collaborates for good.  This year the group has  chosen to work with the FIA and the Greater Chicago Food Depository to help raise money for those who are in need with the annual “Steak Out” Futures Cares event.

ABOUT THE FUTURES INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION

The Futures Industry Association is the leading trade organization for the futures, options and OTC cleared derivatives markets. Its membership includes the world’s largest derivatives clearing firms as well as leading derivatives exchanges from more than 20 countries. As the principal members of the derivatives clearinghouses, FIA member firms play a critical role in the reduction of systemic risk in the financial markets. They provide the majority of the funds that support central clearinghouses and commit a substantial amount of their own capital to guarantee customer transactions.

FIA’s core constituency consists of futures commission merchants, and the primary focus of the association is the global use of exchanges, trading systems and clearinghouses for derivatives transactions.
